CLARICE CLIFF, a really beautifully decorated “DELICIA PANSIES” 7 inch side plate.

This wonderfully painted plate is an early example, like the matching Athens shape tea cup and saucer also freshly listed to the website. It carries the unusual hand-painted black ‘Pansies’ mark, indicating that this was one of the first examples of this striking floral design, before it has been confirmed as a pattern as later examples would carry the black printed Pansies back-stamp!

In great condition and date impressed for November 1933, the only thing to mention is the few minor rim edge paint flecks as pictured which do not detract in any way from the beauty of this lovely example.
